Yamtastic Turkey Chili is a dish the whole family will enjoy.  It is packed with flavor and nutrients. This chili recipe will be sure to warm you up during a cold winter day.


  • Ground Turkey: 1 lb  (For a heart healthy option skip this ingredient)
  • Yams: 4 small
  • Onion: 1 large
  • Chicken Broth: 1 Can (Or veggie broth)
  • Crushed Tomatoes: 1 28oz. can
  • Diced Tomatoes: 1 14 oz can
  • Quinoa: 2 Cups cooked
  • Mushrooms: 1 small can
  • Black Beans: 2 15 oz. cans
  • White Beans: 1 15 oz. can
  • 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1/2-1 tsp. Mrs. Dash Table Blend
  • 2 tsp. Chili Powder
  • 1/2-1 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tsp. Garlic
  • 1 tsp. Sea Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Black Pepper
  • 1 avocado (optional)


Brown ground turkey in olive oil and 1/2 cup water.  Add seasonings, broth and veggies, simmer covered until tender-stirring frequently. Peel and slice yams into small chunks before adding to the pot.  Add quinoa, beans, and mushrooms.  Low simmer 8-10 minutes.  Add additional seasonings to taste.  Top with sliced avocado.
