The foam roller is a modern marvel for the health and fitness world. Something so simple, is providing unrivaled pain relief, recovery and overall health benefits for fitness enthusiasts.  In 2002, I was a young physical therapy aide working alongside some phenomenal physical therapists.  They swore by the foam roller, and I was privileged enough to witness the positive results a foam tube can have on its users.

More recently, Dr. Oz has praised the power of foam rolling, and since his endorsement, everyone is test driving foam rolling.  Rolling is not just a recovery technique, its a vital piece to living a healthier lifestyle and through regular rolling, inflammation and lactic acid are less likely to build up within muscle tissue.

Even better, a foam roll is not the only way to perform myofascial release.  Standard massage and a rolled up towel provide similar benefits.  However, foam rolling is the most practical and efficient method.  Follow the instructions below to have an exceptional, post workout foam rolling session.
