Over the past decade, fitness tracking has become one of the most common practices among fit minded Americans. With a plethora of popular fitness apps and wearables for consumers to choose from, FitBit has become the most notable as well as an industry leader. In large part, thanks to their FitBit App.
Due to this demand and the open FitBit API, we’re pleased to announce that Workout Anywhere’s site and mobile app is officially integrated with FitBit tracking and food logging to make health coaching a breeze for us and our members.
Read on to learn about our use of FitBit’s API (which uses the most popular features of the FitBit App) and check out our video to learn how your family fitness team can evaluate your FitBit activity and food logs to make a winning game plan for anyone, anywhere.
My FitBit and Workout Anywhere
Your family fitness and wellness coaches, Jessica and Justin Rundle use FitBit personally (as you can see in this blog >> Official and Honest Fitbit Surge Review << ). With the power of our tried and tested home and travel training program Workout Anywhere, adding everyone’s favorite fitness wearable (FitBit), to the mix was a necessary stepping stone in the evolution of our program.
Now, we are only weeks away from a new major milestone. The next update to the Workout Anywhere mobile app will add FitBit and about 20 other wearables / fitness apps to our coaching and challenge community (within our app).
Through high quality online training, coaching from your family fitness team, and accountability from “My FitBit” and our community, developing a healthier lifestyle has never been easier! Regular challenges, leader-boarding and our community will be powered by FitBit tracking, as well as other programs like MyFitnessPal, Nike +, Garmin and Jawbone just to name a few.
Here’s how we use FitBit’s open source API with Workout Anywhere:
FitBit Tracking at It’s Finest
It’s easy to get lost in the FitBit App. That’s why we’ve only added the main activity features from the FitBit API. Boiling this down makes online fitness training straight to the point and results inevitable. It’s always fun to look at graph and stats of your daily workouts, but over complicating things is really counterintuitive and unfortunately, this is a reality of the main FitBit App.

Cheers with water to your health!
