Super Bowl is just about here, and our member Hope has provided another amazing recipe. This is a spicy, lower fat alternative to the common meat ball recipes. Watch out! Don’t get burned on this one! It’s hotttt!!!
?Blazin’ Turkey Balls ?
These treats pack some heat – I used locally made Rook’s hot sauce with only 10 mg of sodium per teaspoon!
1 1/2 pounds lean ground turkey
1/2 onion minced
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons hot sauce (Rooks)
1 large egg
3/4 cup oatmeal
Non-stick cooking spray
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly spray large baking sheets and set them aside. Process oatmeal in food processor until the oats are coarsely ground. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix by hand. Roll mixture into one inch meatballs, place on baking sheets one inch apart. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Enjoy!
