“In October of 2011 a few of my close friends and I decided to start a “Biggest Loser” weight loss challenge. At that point, weighed 177 pounds and was 29.9% body fat. At the end of the challenge I had lost 32 pounds and 9.5% body fat. It was at that time I decided I wanted to compete in the NPC Empire Classic on April 28, 2012.
The first thing I knew I needed to do was to find a posing coach and for someone to help me with my nutrition. I had considered several different people but after talking with Jessica Rundle I knew at that moment I was done looking. When I first met with Jessica I realized how much of a sweet and caring person she was and I could tell she was just as excited as I was.
Jessica quickly changed my diet including more white fish, brown rice, chicken and green vegetables. Within two weeks I could start seeing results! Yet training for a fitness competition is very hard on the body physically as I quickly learned.
I had a bump in the road and got an infection that made me take a week and a half off. I was stressed out to the max as I felt that there was no way I could do the show. Jessica reassured me that I would still be able to compete and there wouldn’t be much ground lost if I stuck to my diet 100% and once again she was right. After what seemed to be the longest week and a half I got the okay from my doctor and I was back on track training for the show. Over the next several weeks I was in constant contact with Jessica asking questions about my diet, posing and questions about the show. She was so kind and answered all my questions.
The last week was what seemed to be the most stressful as all the hard work I had put in over the last 11 weeks was finally going to be put to the test and it was just a matter of waiting to go on stage. I was so unbelievably nervous but Jessica and Luke (my personal trainer) were by my side the whole way encouraging me. I ended up placing 5th out of 20 in my class. The most important thing Jessica helped me realize from this experience is that eating right and exercising is not some fad you do while training for a show, it is way healthier way of life.
Thank you Jessica Rundle for helping me reach my full potential!”
